About
I am a professor of economics at the University of Applied Sciences (Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule) in Jena, Germany, and a senior research associate at the Fraunhofer Center for International Management and
Knowledge Economy IMW.

My applied techno-economic research supports the transformation of
European industries towards climate neutrality and closed material cycles for more than ten years.
My methodological competencies include quantitative economic modelling techniques as well as the analysis of global value chains using input-output methods. Having worked at the Centre for
European Economic Research (ZEW), the Leibniz University Hannover, and two Fraunhofer Institutes, I have developed and applied models of international trade as well as of individual markets. My research has been published in renowned scientific journals such as European
Economic Review, Energy Economics, and Ecological Economics.
I have acquired, managed, and ran both basic and applied research projects. My applied work includes joint projects with firms, industry associations, unions, and non-governmental organisations. Thematically, I focus on steel recycling and steel industry as well as on the analysis of global value chains.
Teaching classes on macroeconomics, international trade, as well as on structural change in energy intensive industries, I am well accustomed to communicate complex economic mechanisms with a diverse range of stakeholders.
